Once upon a time... a long time ago... Sag coupled together a rag-tag band of fellow 'footballers' to try their luck at playing some 5-a-side football.

Going by the name of 'Carlsberg Knights' - in honour of the red Liverpool shirts from the 1996/97 season that are used as a kit, and also homage to when a fair few of us who used to play indoor football for various teams at the infamous Cradley Ballpark - in a lifetime far, far away...

...Originally playing at the Halesowen Powerleague Centre in the Thursday Night Leagues (and then onto the Monday Night Leagues), Carlsberg Knights battled it out it with many other 5-a-side teams of differing qualities in a bid to try and stay/get fit, and sharpened up their skills (there was a licensed bar), had a laugh, enjoyed themselves, and even won some matches...

Like many outdoor 5-a-side football centres, matches are played outdoors, in a league format, with games lasting 40-45 minutes. There is no slide tackling, there is a head height rule in effect, and defenders are penalised for entering the goal area, as are goalkeepers if they leave the goal area also.

Soon, the majority of the Carlsberg Knights squad will qualify to play veterans' football (aged 35 and over) - yet as the saying goes - 'experience is everything'. The legs may be going - and the brain stopped working a long time ago - but we're still all big kids at heart trying to enjoy playing our football...

:)
